Photo center

The Photo Center unites the two independent institutions Fotomuseum Winterthur and Fotostiftung Schweiz and is the leading competence center for photography and photo-based art in Switzerland. It is one of the Art Museums of Switzerland. The Fotomuseum Winterthur primarily presents international, contemporary photography and strong positions in the history of photography. The Fotostiftung Schweiz looks after the most extensive and important collection of Swiss photography and shows the outstanding works in their cultural-historical and aesthetic context.

From June 2023 until spring 2025, the premises of the Fotomuseum Winterthur at Grüzenstrasse 44 will be closed due to a new construction and renovation project. The Fotostiftung Schweiz will be open regularly throughout the construction period and will present a varied program of exhibitions, events and educational activities.
