5 idyllic bathing spots in the Winterthur region

Not far from the city, you will find various options for cooling off in the water on hot summer days. We have picked out four idyllic swimming spots in the countryside for you: Whether river, pond or lake - there is a suitable bathing spot for everyone.

Walcheweiher

A short walk from the Bachtelstrasse bus stop will take you to the three Walcheweiher ponds in the middle of the Lindbergwald forest. A peaceful oasis away from the noise of the city awaits you here. The middle pond is ideal for swimming - the water plants are even specially mowed for this purpose. Next to it you will find a fireplace, a forest hut, play equipment and benches, which invite you to linger surrounded by ancient sequoia trees.

Töss

Along the wild Töss landscape you will find many beautiful places to linger. Although the water is not very deep, you can swim in various places. The numerous gravel beds invite you to relax and play. Many people gather here, especially at the weekend, to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. If you are traveling by bike, you can cycle further up the Töss Valley and find your ideal bathing spot.

Lake Husemer

Are you looking for an idyllic lake in the middle of nature with few people? The Husemersee in Ossingen is located in a nature reserve in the middle of the forest and invites you to enjoy and relax. Swimming is permitted on the western side and you can reach the cool water via a footbridge. There is a large sunbathing lawn right next door. An absolutely picturesque place where you are guaranteed to find peace and quiet!

Lake Hüttwil and Lake Nussbaum

If you love swimming in idyllic lakes but are still looking for the infrastructure of a lido, Lake Hüttwil is just the place for you. The idyllic lido with its pebble beach and spacious sunbathing lawn, barbecue area and kiosk invites you to enjoy a leisurely swim. Right next door is the Nussbaumersee, which offers refreshment with three official and wild bathing spots. Both lakes are located in a nature reserve and are surrounded by a belt of reeds and trees.
