Art Museum Winterthur

In 2018, the Kunstmuseum, Museum Oskar Reinhart and Villa Flora merged to form the Kunst Museum Winterthur and brought together an outstanding collection. In terms of content, the museum maintains its traditions, the exchange between the collections and presents them in changing constellations. The collector and patron Oskar Reinhart (1885-1965), one of Theodor Reinhart's sons and co-founder of the Kunstverein, built up an extensive art collection throughout his life.

With the rediscovery of German art after the turn of the century, Oskar Reinhart began to acquire German and Austrian art in addition to Swiss art. The extensive and unique groups of works, particularly those of early Romanticism and Realism, are on permanent display alongside others. The Kunst Museum Winterthur | Beim Stadthaus has one of the finest collections of modern art in Switzerland.
