Educational city

Winterthur is the center for practice-oriented education and is one of the top educational cities in the country. With over 10,000 students, a key pillar of this is theZurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). Winterthur is home to other important educational institutions such as theCenter for Education in Healthcare (ZAG)theSwiss Technical College (STFW)and theMechatronics School.
In the immediate vicinity are also the renowned University of Zurich UZH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research EMPA.
