"Winterthur offers countless opportunities for real outdoor adventures"
With CALIBIKE, Daniel Uffer is bringing fresh impetus to the local leisure and outdoor scene - and with full e-power. In this interview, he talks about new ways of working, e-MTB trends and why Winterthur is the perfect place for him to develop his company.

Daniel Uffer has been riding independently with CALIBIKE since April 2024.

Team spirit on the trail: CALIBIKE tours are also possible as a company event.
What does the CALIBIKE range look like?
CALIBIKE focuses in particular on e-mountain bikes. Most of our customers are private individuals. But of course we also offer individual tours for companies and clubs. We coordinate the details of these events together - whether as a team outing, incentive or active workshop.
You travel all over Switzerland with your leisure activities - what are the advantages of being based in Winterthur as a provider in this area?
I have to be honest: I don't know Winterthur inside out yet. But Winterthur is a beautiful city with incredible potential. That's exactly why I'm excited to expand my network here and get to know new things. In my opinion, the topic of mountain biking - especially e-MTBs - is far from exhausted in Winterthur. It will continue to develop, also in connection with flexible mobility. The combination of public transport and bikes will definitely increase. Not least to avoid traffic jams. And as far as the region is concerned, Winterthur and the surrounding area offer countless opportunities for exciting tours and real outdoor adventures.
Leisure and outdoor offers are a constantly growing market. What trends are you currently observing - and how is CALIBIKE responding to them?
Everyone is talking about e-MTBs at the moment and they are now also perceived as a sport and health-promoting. This was even empirically confirmed recently in the Tagesschau. Our target group is people aged 35 and over. The focus is on sporting activity, nature, mountains and enjoyment. It really is amazing how far you can get with e-support. Technical tips are always included in our camps. Riding up is one thing, but riding down is a discipline in its own right. And it's at least as much fun. The possibilities are endless.
