Photo Foundation Switzerland
The Fotostiftung Schweiz and the Fotomuseum Winterthur are combined as the Photo Center Winterthur. They offer the leading competence center for photography and photo-based art in Switzerland.
The Fotostiftung Schweiz is part of the "Art Museums of Switzerland" and offers over 50 years of preservation, research and communication of photographic works. It looks after the most extensive and important collection of Swiss photography and shows the outstanding works in their cultural-historical and aesthetic context.
The collection consists of 50,000 exhibition prints, 250,000 archive prints and over one million negatives and slides. However, the focus is on 20th century photography.
With its own exhibitions and publications, the Fotostiftung Schweiz regularly presents historical or current positions in Swiss photography.
