5 relaxing parks in Winterthur

Just above the Obertor to the east of the old town you reach the historic villa park. There is a large aviary in the middle of the park, which is why locals call it the "bird park" as the locals call it. This idyllic spot with its beautiful flat meadow, winding paths, flowerbeds and mighty trees is very popular with young and old alike. The outdoorgame "Kubb" or unpack the picnic blanket. 

A place for lovers! Just a few steps and you have from the Heiligberg a magnificent view over the whole city. The rose garden offers with its many benches idealopportunity for a relaxing break. In summer, over 300 different over 300 different rosesvarieties and provides thus for a place of tranquillity in the midst of the floral splendor.   

A little outside the city, but with a beautiful view over the city and the mountains, you will find the "Bäumli". The sunny viewing terrace above the vines of the Goldenberg is not the most popular vantage point for Winterthur residents and travelers for nothing. Up here you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets on the old stone wall. The barbecue area and the Vitaparcourswhich runs past here, there is a lively atmosphere here.

The largest park is right next to the old town and and is therefore located in the heart of Winterthur. It invites you to take a leisurely stroll past the fountain and past the sculptures surrounded by beautiful flowerbeds. The large children's playground is there for the little ones to let off steam and the numerous seating areas allow young and old to relax in the urban idyll. The spacious lawn is often used for ball games and picnics, making it a lively place.  

Only over the Wykand Bridge from the trendy Sulzer area you can relax in the peaceful park with shady trees. This historic location with a villa and farm building is a rather quiet place, where you have the whole nature to yourself and enjoy the peace and quiet.
