How Winterthur was transformed into a vibrant city of art.
In the 1910s - the "glorious decade" - Winterthur developed into a city of art with international appeal. Important collectors and patrons such as Hedy and Arthur Hahnloser and Georg and Oskar Reinhart heralded a new understanding of art. Under the leadership of factory owner Richard Bühler, the art temple at the Stadthaus was built. The tour looks at this decade and the key moments in the development of art. It shows you the basis of the exponents' wealth and their motives for collecting art, and informs you about current events in the art city of Winterthur.
Dates of the private guided tour can be freely chosen, but only during the opening hours of the Kunst Museum at the Stadthaus: Tue 10-20 hrs, Wed-Sun 10-17 hrs. Mon closed.
