"The whole sports world will look to Winterthur"

Winterthur will host a unique sporting highlight in 2024: the Road and Para-Cycling World Championships. To mark this major sporting event, the "LOK Winterthur Rad WM24" association is organizing a two-day Velofäscht . We asked OC President Severin Schefer what this major event means for Winterthur.

What does it mean for Winterthur to be part of such a sporting event?
For Winterthur, it is a unique opportunity to organize such a major sporting event as a guest. The whole sporting world will be looking towards Winterthur on Sunday morning and taking in its wonderful surroundings.

Why should you visit the Velofäscht?
The Winterthurer Velofäscht is packed with highlights for young and old. From the pump track and food stands to the show performance by the cycle ballers and the huge public viewing, there is something for everyone. Click here for the supporting program.

What part of the World Cycling Championships program are you personally looking forward to the most?
I'm most looking forward to the big public viewing on the Schützenwiese, and of course the start on Sunday morning in front of the Wintower.
