Come in, come in! The Musikkollegium Winterthur invites you to the Stadthaus for the first concert, the start, the URSPRUNG of the new season.

Come in, come in! To crown the extensive opening festival, the Musikkollegium Winterthur invites you to the Stadthaus for the first concert, the start, the URSPRÜNGE of the new season. "URSPRÜNGE" is the motto in the light of which the program for the 2025/26 season will be presented: In Debussy's "Après-midi d'un faune", the faun's flute, which according to legend is the origin of all music, can be heard right at the beginning.

Honegger and the Musikkollegium cultivated a close relationship during Werner Reinhart's patronage; after all, the Winterthur performance of Honegger's "King David" made a decisive contribution to the success of his career.

Sergei Prokofiev drew his compositional origins from Haydn and Mozart to write a new and at the same time classical symphony. In his overture to the national origin epic "William Tell", Rossini makes use of old Swiss folk melodies and thus looks back compositionally to the beginnings of a culture. A light-hearted potpourri to start the season - come in!

Program:
Claude Debussy - "Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune" (1894) version for chamber orchestra by Arthur Lavandier (2010)
Arthur Honegger - Concerto for violoncello and orchestra, H 72
Sergei Prokofieff - Symphony No. 1 in D major, op. 25 "Symphonie classique"
Gioachino Rossini - Overture to the opera "William Tell"
