Oskar Reinhart Collection "Am Römerholz"

A jewel of the Swiss museum landscape is located in an elevated position above Winterthur: one of the most important private collections of the 20th century awaits visitors here in a villa hidden behind old trees and an idyllic garden.

During his lifetime, the Winterthur art collector Oskar Reinhart transformed his home in Römerholz into a museum: he had an impressive picture gallery added. After his death in 1965, his heir, the Swiss Confederation, opened the doors to Reinhart's treasures. The Impressionist works of 19th century French painting by Renoir, Cézanne and Monet, to name but a few, stand out. The collection also includes some exquisite paintings by the old masters such as Rubens, Goya and Bruegel.

The villa and the historic park with its sculptures combine with the collection to form a small but impressive work of art. Not forgetting the charming café with a view, which invites you to indulge in culinary delights after enjoying the art.

Here you will find current events in the Oskar Reinhart Collection, such as "Museum at noon" and "Museum on Sunday".
