Around Rheinau

The circular route starts on the monastery square and leads past the vines and apple trees up the Rhine to the Rheinau power station. On the subsequent ascent up to the swimming pool, it is worth taking a look back at the impressive monastery island of St. Maria, on which the monastery island stands. Passing the Celtic fortifications and the two bunkers, the path leads to the other side of the peninsula and from here continues through the village to the old customs house and bridge. On the way, it is worth making a short detour to the mountain church of St. Nicholas, which stands above the monastery church on the vineyard. On the way back to the monastery square, the circular route leads past agricultural land and a fireplace with a bathing area and wonderful views of the pointed church of St. Magdalena and the monastery church.
