Dägerlen is located directly at the gateway to the Zurich wine country. The rural community of around 1000 inhabitants is made up of the five villages of Bänk, Berg, Dägerlen, Rutschwil and Oberwil. Although Winterthur, the sixth largest city in Switzerland, is only eight kilometers away, there is no sign of the hustle and bustle of the city in Dägerlen. The municipality is a popular recreational area for both urban and rural residents.
