Medbase - Where innovation is the recipe for success

Medbase was founded in 2001, at a time when physiotherapists, general practitioners and specialized physicians generally worked separately from each other. A delegation from House of Winterthur recently visited the Medbase Group and gained an exciting insight into the company's recipe for success.

In order to break down the silo mentality that prevailed at the beginning of 2000, Medbase brought medicine and therapy together in one place. It was this innovative step that laid the foundation for the Medbase Group's current success. With the newly opened medical centers and the integration of pharmacies and dental centers, the Medbase Group was able to grow strongly. Today, with over 3,200 employees, Medbase is the leading outpatient healthcare provider in Switzerland, offering its patients comprehensive medical care.

However, the success achieved does not stop the Group from continuing to innovate. For example, it is seeking to collaborate with universities, health insurance companies and other medical institutes in order to create a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem in Winterthur and throughout Switzerland. During our visit, CEO Marcel Napierala was very positive about the Winterthur Business location . The excellent public transport connections were highlighted as a major plus. "I can get from Winterthur to Zurich faster than my colleagues who move around the city," says Napierala. He went on to say that the good economic development of Winterthur has contributed to the success of the Medbase Group. "Winterthur is a strong location with its proximity to the centers. The city of Winterthur is developing rapidly and is the gateway to specialists from Eastern Switzerland," said Napierala.
