A look behind the scenes – with Evangeline Odibo

Evangeline is a commercial apprentice in her third year of training and is completing her final year with us in the accounting department. Between reconciling figures, performing administrative tasks, and assisting at the tourist information office, she is gaining valuable practical experience and stepping in wherever support is needed.

8:00 a.m. – Arrival at the office
On her way to the office, she picks up the mail at the train station. At the office, she first gets an overview of the tasks at hand and goes through her emails and messages.

9:00 a.m. – Working throughto-do lists in accounting
There is a lot to do in accounting. This requires a great deal of concentration, as Evangeline sometimes spends hours reconciling figures. Among other things, she posts transactions from the tourist information shop, pays outstanding invoices, and files the corresponding receipts.

11:00 a.m. – Scheduling company visits
Evangeline ualso supports the economic team in organizing company visits. The team visits companies based in Winterthur, sometimes together with members of the board and the mayor of Winterthur. She is currently coordinating a visit to one of our largest members, AXA.

1:30 p.m. – Spontaneous assignment at the tourist information office
After lunch, the tourist information team gets in touch: someone is sick and won't be able to work this afternoon. Evangeline steps in to help out. She stands at the counter, sells products, and advises customers. Working at the tourist information center is one of her favorite things to do.

3:00 p.m. – Assistance with video shoot
The marketing team is shooting a video at the Tourist Information Center to promote the culture and gourmet vouchers on Instagram. Evangeline helps out and even appears in front of the camera herself for the short video.

form5:30 p.m. – End of the workday
Work ends at 5:30 p.m. Evangeline closes up at the tourist information office and then enjoys her free evening.
