Albanifest Winterthur
Winterthur celebrates its birthday with the Albanifest . The festival is named after the city's patron saint, St. Alban. What began on June 22, 1264 with the granting of the city charter is today a city festival of clubs and cultures. It is organized by the Albanifest, which works on a voluntary basis.
Every year since 1971, the beautiful old town has come alive for three days on the last weekend in June. The charisma of the Albani Festival extends far beyond the borders and is of great cultural, social, touristic and economic importance for the town and region. Locals and visitors alike enjoy Winterthur's friendly hospitality in all its diversity. The Albanifest has also been recognized as a valuable tradition through its inclusion in the Swiss UNESCO list of intangible cultural assets.
