Villa Flora

For decades, a visit to Villa Flora was a privilege reserved only for the family and a close circle of friends. Since 1995, Villa Flora has been open to the public thanks to the private initiative of descendants of the collector couple Hedy and Arthur Hahnloser-Bühler.

Between 1907 and 1930, Hedy and Arthur Hahnloser built up an exceptionally high-quality collection of Swiss and French art. They concentrated on a select circle of painters and sculptors. The focus was on Post-Impressionist painters, in particular the Nabis artists' groups with Vallotton, Bonnard and Vuillard and the Fauves with Matisse as their best-known representative. They have supplemented their collection with works by Cézanne and van Gogh, who are regarded as the fathers of modernism, and by Swiss artists Giovanni Giacometti and Ferdinand Hodler.

The Hahnlosers / Jaeggli Foundation's pictorial treasures are currently on tour. They are on display at the Kunsthalle Hamburg, the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg and the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart.

Numerous interesting events are held at the Villa Flora. The villa also has rooms available for private and business events.
