Hegi Castle

A visit to Hegi Castle in the east of Winterthur is not only worthwhile because of the ancient building, which dates back to the 13th century. The complex, which now houses a museum and serves as a venue for cultural events, has 1.6-metre-thick walls and is visible from afar thanks to its 10-metre-high tower. Just as exciting, however, is the spacious vegetable garden on the east side of the castle, which was planted in 2012. Vegetables from days long gone are grown in the garden. You can even enjoy them in the "Schloss Schenke" at the weekend.
