Party Night
A night of partying, great vibes, fun, and good cheer with ChueLee and the folk-pop band Troglauer from Bavaria
ChueLee
ChueLee is a dialect music group from Switzerland. With well over 100 performances a year and tens of thousands of CDs sold to date, Christian Duss and Martin Schwarzentruber are among the most sought-after live performers in German-speaking Switzerland. All of their albums have immediately entered the Swiss music charts. Their trademarks include their clothing, musical instruments, and at times even their own tractor decked out in a cow-print design.
from Troglau: revolutionaries of the new folk music scene and the undisputed masters of the party. When the first chords rip through the crowd, the bass vibrates, and frontman Domml throws his arms up with a broad grin, there’s no stopping them. The Troglauer have taken over again—somewhere between the Upper Palatinate and the world stage. And suddenly, anything is possible: folk music flirts with rock, party beats thunder in competition with accordion sounds—and the boundaries between tradition and modernity simply dissolve. While elsewhere music is often cooked up by the book, the Troglauer stir up their own special blend. A generous pinch of folk music, a hefty dash of party beats, plus gritty rock riffs and melodies that instantly ignite—and there you have the unmistakable sound that knows no genre boundaries. Trying to pigeonhole this band is like trying to squeeze all the peaks of the Alps into a shoebox—it doesn’t fit, and that’s a good thing. Because Troglauer exudes the freedom to refuse to be defined, and that’s exactly what gives their music its infectious power.
The group led by Domml, Willi, Danny, Nicki, and Mike mixes everything that’s fun into a sound that makes the crowd go wild. And suddenly the audience is belting out lines like: “What am I supposed to say? He was right!” By now, even the last few know: Today is going to be wild.
For a long time, folk music was considered something for the older generation. But that image has changed. The Troglauer prove, like no other band, that tradition and modernity don’t have to be opposites. Their fans come from all age groups—from teenagers to grandmothers, from partygoers to families, everyone is there. For the Troglauer, there’s no better compliment.
