Street Art 2026
With “Home,” visual artist Lionel David brings a sense of comfort to Bahnmeisterweg. The mural depicts a person nestled within a textile landscape, thereby drawing a connection to Winterthur’s history as a textile city. Shades of red and white echo the city’s colors, giving the work an additional local connection. Amid the bustling area around the train station, “Home” invites viewers to take a closer look and discover street art in Winterthur from a new perspective.

2025 "Walk of Fame" by Wonky
Winterthur-based artist Balthasar Bosshard, also known as Wonky, has won the 2025 competition: His work, “Walk of Fame,” invites viewers on a visual stroll through Winterthur, featuring landmarks such as Vögelipark, Bäumli, and Delphinplatz. From his studio in Winterthur, he works as an illustrator, artist, and printmaker and is internationally renowned for his handcrafted screen-printed posters.
2024 "Winti Büsis" from Taina
The Zurich artist won the 4th competition in 2024 with her two red city buses. In doing so, she interpreted the Winterthur coat of arms embedded in a green and flowery background, expressing her love for Winterthur. With her art from the urban to pop art genres, she has already been represented at over 60 exhibitions worldwide and at famous street art festivals throughout Europe.
2023 "Heimat" by Gaspard Louane
The Fribourg artist Gaspard Louane won the 3rd competition in 2023 with his work "Heimat". Traditional elements, the form of a colorful collage reminiscent of board games, combined with a humorous wink, convey a sense of home to all generations. The long-time graffiti artist has already exhibited in galleries from Zurich to Paris, New York and Soeul.
2022 "Velothur" by Effi Bannister
In 2022, Winterthur resident and mural artist Effi Bannister was the winner of the street art competition. The freelance artist with a studio in Winterthur interpreted her favorite Velostadt in the form of pattern art. "My love for Winterthur is also my love for bikes! I have created a complex pattern from simple basic shapes that reflects my personal experience of the bicycle city."
2021 "Green Winterthur" by Basil Girard
The Winterthur artist Basil Girard won the first competition with his interpretation of "Green Winterthur". Natural surroundings with forests and hills, the garden city, parks and ecological aspirations inspired him to create his artwork. In it, he integrated history, art and the museum city and emphasized this with ornamental elements, a carpet of flowers and even incorporated ethnic art.
