From 9 to 18 holes: second urban golf course opens in Winterthur

The first urban golf course opened in Winterthur in 2018. Since then, the leisure activity has enjoyed great popularity in Winterthur. Due to the ever-increasing demand, a golf course has been developed in recent months in collaboration with the Golfsession GmbH, a second 9-hole course has been created in recent months, which is now playable.

The Urban Golf success story continues: over 18,000 people have played on the existing course in the last five years. "The idea of expanding the course has been around for some time," says Gianni De Coppi, responsible Product Manager Tourism at House of Winterthur. The increasing demand in recent years has accelerated the expansion of the course. "The expansion will create new capacity. The old course will be relieved, there will be fewer waiting times and we will continue to develop the urban golf product," says De Coppi. In future, the main focus will be on increasing added value in Winterthur through partnerships with restaurants and hotels.
