Winterthur Nature Museum
The natural science collections of yesteryear have been dusted off, creating a family-friendly and smart nature museum. Its exhibitions provide a playful and educational introduction to the fascinating world of nature.
The permanent exhibition makes nature on our doorstep tangible for young and old. In addition, temporary exhibitions set additional focal points. These focus on native animals and plants, their peculiarities and their history.
Each exhibition is accompanied by various events such as excursions, concerts and workshops. In the Kerala Children's Museum, nature is brought closer to the youngest visitors: listening to stories, crawling into an oversized badger burrow as a little badger or bringing along natural treasures in the drawer museum ensure that boredom is a thing of the past.
Harry Hammer now accompanies you on one of the 20 tablet computers, which can be collected from the Nature Museum store on presentation of an ID card.
The tour takes you through the geological sections of the permanent exhibition on the first floor and basement. Points can be collected at various points. After completing the tour, you will receive a fossil hunter's diploma when you hand in your tablet, which entitles you to take part in the tapping day.
The Nature Museum is located in the same building as the Winterthur Art Museum. Since its reopening in 2005, it has been showered with praise and even received the "Prix Expo" museum prize for breaking new museological ground.
